So, in my typical obsessive, organized way of doing things, I am trying to "prepare" for my RE appointment which is about a month from now. I wanted to put together a binder with my past cycle info and make room for insurance info, etc. I just know we will be bombarded with bills, claims, tests results, etc. and I would like it all in one place.
I have been working on getting my past 2006 and 2007 cycles in one place and even though I am quite modernized, I still like an old Word calendar to work off of. I have thought about Fertility Friend or some other online one and they all intimidate me. There is something I do not trust about a computer program telling me my fertile time, etc. I know, I know...but hey...it also took me YEARS to finally trust online bill-pay. I'll get there someday.
So I have been entering all of the info into my calendar. I was really good at writing down everything, each spotting day, all symptoms, results from each OB appt. etc. I was also good at tracking my cycles beginning in May of 2006 because I was having lots of break though bleeding before each AF...basically from the time I got married (July 2005) until we started trying. The entire year of 2006, I tried several different BCP's because each month I would always spot heavily one week before my true AF. Hmmmmm....
I have looked back and both of my pregnancies mirror each other. I got BFP's on around day CD29 both times and by CD40 in each pregnancy, I was spotting...both times were very slight brown spotting almost everyday with a few bright red days until around day 60 when I had a D&C. At each 8 week appointment, the baby stopped between 6w1d and 6w3d....both times....hmmmm.
I may be reading too much into this but there just has to be something there with the strange cycles prior to TTC and the strange similarities between both pregnancies. I cannot shake the idea that maybe I really do have an issue with my hormone levels and Luteal Phase length. I will take my thoughts to my RE but really this binder is for me. So just in case he tells me to take a few months to track my cycles...I can hand him a year and a half of tracking.
I was very productive at being unproductive today, as you can see.

I think there is a trend

Very interesting. Don't you wish you had gone into ob/gyn right now? I often do. And I would have NEVER thought of that before. Personally I think I have the same issue with progesterone. My doctor told me that I should just start taking it as soon as I get PG. Are you sure your doctor won't offer it? There's got to be something that he will offer in place. I think you being so organized will definitely help get answers more quickly. Crossing my fingers for you.
Nice Work on the binder! (i am still a huge fan of calendars in WORD) I have to say my 2 cents - I think progesterone is the key in early pregnancies. I think you are on to something! Nice work Nancy Drew ;) Keep up the good work and take charge of your own opinions and thoughts. They are valid and should be heard and taken into consideration!
Good job with the binder. Feeling organized is always a plus. I do know that my RE said he didn't really need to see my charts and unless it made me feel better, I could stop temping.
And I agree about the progesterone, they'll probably put you on it. Mine does for all medicated cycles
This sounds like a great way to take at least some control in this whole crazy TTC business. I think it's a good idea.
I'm excited for you to go to an RE! They will be so proactive with you in getting PG. A simple progesterone test on 7DPO will tell you how your progesterone is looking.
BTW, I love Fertility Friend. On the bottom of my blog I have a link to all my charts for the past year. You don't have to "depend" on them to tell you your fertile, but they are a huge help in visualising your cycle, symptoms, etc. I love it.
first, i'd like to thank you SO MUCH for visiting me this week. your words mean so much to me. i hate that you "get it," but i do thank you.
the RE is the best place for you to go to figure out the reasons behind the RPL. hopefully, the fix is easy and they will have you on your way to a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby in the very near future.
i'm adding you to my blogroll.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog. With regard to doctor's appointments, I think it is useful to go in prepared; they're far less likely to tell you to go away and keep trying if they can see that you do actually know how your reproductive cycle works. One of the things I find most difficult about all of this is the feeling that I am handing my body over to the medical profession; it can be quite empowering to feel that you do at least retain some control over your cycle. I wish you all the very best with your appointment in January.
