Do you have any idea what either of those two things are? Neither do I.
I had a whole bunch of tests done last week and got all of the results this weekend. The ONLY good thing about Kaiser is that you can email your doctors and they actually respond and you get test results as soon as they are ready, directly to your email. Like when I was pregnant and tests my betas, I would get results sent to my email that day!
Well all of my test results have come back and there are only two things in question. I have no idea what they are but they both have to do with blood clotting.
"APTT immediately after addition of normal plasma" - this result says "see comments" and there are no comments to be found. I am hoping the comments were accidentally omitted and went along the lines of: "Oh this is it, this level was too high or too low. We have our answer. Tell Meg to take a baby aspirin when pregnant again and she will successfully have the 3 fat healthy babies she is hoping for." Wouldn't that be peachy?
"PT/INR" - This result was 1.0 and was "flagged" as being too low. Normal results are 2.0-3.5. There is no explanation as to what this is either.
I have sent an email to my OB for an explanation. She was great and offered to get all of these tests out of the way before I meet with my RE. Plus since she ordered them, they were covered by insurance. My RE orders will be covered only 50%. She was certainly using her noggin that day when she helped me out on the financial side. Now if she could only help my body keep from kicking babies to the curb. Although I think she is done with that for now, I get to move onto the RE to deal with anything further.
So now I sit and wait. I have done everything I can until January 23rd when I finally meet with my RE. Did I mention with Kaiser there is one RE for the entire Boulder/Denver region so if I do not like him, I am f'd up sh^t's creek.....I hope he is a McDreamy with more relaxed views on testing progesterone than how his office lady made it sound.

Could it be the PT/INR or the APTT immediately after addition of normal plasma?

Those test both could definately effect your pregnancies. They can be related to the MTHFR deficiancy. Baby Aspirin and/or Heparin/Lovenox could very well be a clotting problem.
Wow emailed results, that is the coolest thing. Good luck with your upcoming appointment. I hope you get really good vibes from the RE.
I hope that your meeting with the RE on the 23rd gives you some answers. I know it's easier said than done, but in the meantime please try not to worry too much, and don't spend too much time consulting Dr Google about your results - sometimes that alone can frighten you into thinking that things are more serious than they are!
I hope that the answers you need come very soon, and your upcoming appointment with the new RE brings information and reassurance.
Both the PT/INR and the PTT(APTT) have to do with blood clotting. As far as how the relate to the MTHFR I don't remember. But as fertilize me said the baby aspirin or heparin/lovenox could definitely make a difference.
I don't know what any of those things mean, but I hope you get some answers soon.
Wow! Emailed test results! How great! Beats the crap out of trying to prod the less than competent 19 year old working the doctor's office front desk. Hmmm can't wait til you find out what all of this means...did you dr. google it? Could be a chance there's something out there. I'm going to do the baby asprin thing next time around too. I figured what's another element to my fertility diet. What the heck.
