My follow-up appointment went really well today. My doctor is very happy with how the surgery turned out and the pictures he showed me made me really happy I did this. He showed me the before septum and had several images taken during the procedure. The "after" image made me really happy, the top of my uterus is pretty close to flush with my tube openings and you could see blood flow. The dip in the heart is just about gone.
He told me I needed one full cycle and then we can "pursue pregnancy" again. I think we will be giving my body a few more months than that to recover from being blasted with Lupron. I have not had a menstrual cycle since February and I really would like my body to have some time to balance itself again. I will track for the summer and in the fall, I think we will ease back into trying. I am just so scared to lose another pregnancy so this time off will also be a time for me to find a new sense of trust and hope in my body.

YAY! The remodel is complete! That is awesome news.
I hear you on the scared thing. We are cleared for this month, but after all the hormones and stuff, I am thinking if it doesn't happen, meh that's ok. But our bodies are pretty darn resilient. They will be ready when they are darn good and ready (and we get regular cycles). I just started my 3rd cycle and she showed up like clockwork. Maybe, just maybe my body is saying - allllllrighty now.
Good luck hun. Having the summer to enjoy the fun and the sun (most importantly, the beer) and letting your body recover fully sounds like a great idea.
Glad it went well!
And enjoy the summer without the stress of treatments...very good idea!
I am so glad everything went well!! Hooray for before and after photos, especially for making it clear that you made the right choice. That's wonderful.
Have a fabulous low-stress summer!
I am so thrilled to hear that the surgery was successful and that the pictures of it show!
Enjoy your summer! You deserve it!
Wonderful News
Happy news indeed!
I'm now a fan of taking your time. I never thought I'd take 7 months off in between IVFs, but it took my body a while to normalize after the m/c. I felt like it would have been a waste when my 28-day-cycle was doing bizarre things like taking half as long or twice as long. For me, normalization took from Jan to April, so similar to g.
Spend time thinking of all the stuff you won't be able to do (or won't be as likely to do) after having kids, and do them now!!
That is wonderful news!! I completely understand the wait. Your body and mind have both been through so much in the last year. I hope you have a good break!
I'm so glad everything looks good! And how cool that you got to see before and after pictures!
Congrats on the new uterus!
That is so great Meg! Here's to septum free uteri! Have a great stress free summer. I hear you on the fear...I am so freaked out by trying again. But I guess that's the only way to a baby. Who thought of that anyhow!? ;)
Meg, that's awesome!!! I'm so happy for you. I'm so happy for a good uterus. I know how thrilled i was after my 4th surgery when I was FINALLY deemed "good". Congrats!!
Oh, this is wonderful news. Congratulations on your remodel job. I am so excited for you!!!
Awesome news! I am so glad the surgery went well. : ) PHEW! Now you can ease yourself into feeling more comfortable to try again...eventually. Sending positive vibes your way...;)
For some reason your May 19 post is showing up on bloglines, but not here. You may have deleted it before I could comment.
Hang in there Meg. I am sorry your innocence regarding pregnancy is gone!
