I had a great getaway to Mexico. We relaxed, enjoyed many frozen pool bar drinks and really felt great. We even found ourselves talking about "when" (not if) we are pregnant. It feels so good to be in this place and I really hope we can look back at this last year as a time when we lost...but gained as well. I am really focused on trying to make meaning out of my experiences right now.
I am also slowly trying to get back into blogging. I have felt awkward in this place of just waiting and going on with the summer that I have been really unmotivated to write, mainly because my thoughts have been elsewhere. But they are creeping back to this journey and well, things are not up to speed yet and are quite uninteresting. I mean really, do you really want to hear about my fertility monitor?? If you do, I am confused. I had 20 days of 2 bars (high fertility) and never a peak and just got AF again. I wasted 20 sticks I feel. So there...that is what I have been up to.
Oh and I have decided I am feeling much closer to trying again. I can tell this because for the past year when I saw a tiny baby, I would just cry. Now I think they are delicious again.

Yay! Welcome back!!! So glad you had a great trip - I LOVE that book, btw.
No advice on the fertility monitor, sorry.
I think it can be so empowering when we can find our way through great loss and suffering and somehow cultivate meaning, lessons, and even small gifts from the experience. It is no small task to be able to do this when it is done well and with depth and integrity. I am quietly abiding with you as you seek the meaning and gifts of the year that has passed.
So glad you are back to enjoying delicious babies. I know that must feel so reassuring to you - I cannot wait till you have your own delicious baby to gobble up!
Welcome Back! I see you've been reading my least favorite book Eat, Whine and Pray. I know, I know, people love it. I'm convinced I'm the only person that somehow never bonded with that book...I've been trying to finish it and still have not. At this point I've been in India for-ev-er Ugh! I don't know what's going to happen first, me finishing the book or me having a successful pregnancy. I guess we'll have to see. Any how I'll talk fertility monitor with you. Mine did the same thing when I used it for my first cycle. Is this your first cycle using it? Don't be concerned either way. It can certainly surprise you next month and straighten up for you. Glad you're in a good place now! :)
mmmm...frozen drinks and hammocks, sounds like a perfect vacay
I would have the same thing happen in the beginnng of using the monitor. It can take awhile to 'learn' your cycles. Also, since I apparently always ovulated really late (day 25-30), it was also hormonally weak so I didn't always get the surge that the monitor detects. But I have heard of other people never getting peak the first few times they used it who didn't have my issues
Glad you're ready to get back on the horse!
Welcome back! So pleased you had a relaxing trip.
I agree with the other gals about the fertility monitor. Give it another month before you pass judgement on it. I've used mine for so long now (depressing) that I end up only peeing on 5 sticks a month. It knows me so well now. :) But also, don't forget that you can call the help number in the instruction booklet if you do think it is malfunctioning. A friend of mine called them for something and said they were very pleasant and well informed...
Glad you had a lovely trip, but it is good to hear from you! Is it time for our next meet up soon?
Looking at the pic was a bit deja-vu-ish, seeing as how I just got back from Mexico where I read Eat, Pray, Love and talked with hubby about when we'll be pg. (Were you the one following me???) ;-)
Glad you had a great trip, and sorry about the sucky monitor.
It sounds like you're in a pretty good place. I'm so glad.
Welcome back!! Back home and back to the blogosphere. I am glad you had a wonderful vacation.
It is hard making the decision to try again. As much as I want to be pregnant, I get terrified that it will be just like the last one.
ahh, baby lust. i have it too, but I think we already connected over that. Glad you are back, and glad you had a good vaca.
