Okay ladies, here is the million dollar question. When the hell did AF arrive?
8/5 (CD21) very light brown spotting
8/6 (CD22) very light brown spotting
8/7 (CD23) bright red at FMU in AM, then hardly anything
8/8 (CD24) light brown spotting, hardly anything
8/9 (CD25) red in AM again, light brown spotting all day
8/10 (CD26) light brown spotting, hardly anything
8/11 (CD27) light brown spotting, picking up and more red tonight
I seriously struggle with picking CD1 every month. I get the criteria for red flow as CD1 but that happened on the CD23...so I hit "m" and assumed it was AF. Well then nothing happened. I had a gush of red (sorry) and then absolutely nothing....I have had bad cramps for over a week too. Seriously, do I over think this? This has got me quite perplexed this month. I know this is something I should have down by now but I have had strange cycles forever, years and years of weird cycles. I have become more aware of my cycles in the last few years but deciding what defines my CD1 has me.....every month.
UPDATE: She is here....no question. I promise I kind of know what I am doing.

What the hell.....

Does your RE or RE's nurse have an email? I would email her to see what she thinks. That is pretty strange, what is this your second or third cycle post resection? If it picks up, I would say tonight is it.
That is so confusing. I've had months like that where I would call the nurse and say "I think I had CD1." They always told me that it had to be bright red, full flow and I would know it when it came, but it isn't always that clear cut!
I say 8/7. I have weird stuff where it stops and starts too but if I was charting or whatever I would consider it the first red blood even if it stops after that.
That's a really short cycle tho. Weirdness. I wonder if this is connected to the surgery?
I have had cycles start like that, too. It is so embarassing to not know what is going on with my own body. One would think, at the very least, I should know what day my period starts.
I thought I was the only person who stressed over that question at the doctor's office when presented with the simple question "when was the first day of your last period?" I say, "It depends how you define first day," and they look at me like, "just answer the question." Argh. I always figure it can't possibly matter THAT much and pick a day of spotting randomly just to give an answer. But considering it's a RE, I vote for giving them the details and letting them decide.
Oh I can certainly relate to this one. It used to drive me crazy!
Thanks for the book recommendation - it looks awesome and it's on my to do list for this week!
I can sympathize completely. It's tough to know sometimes if it's 'red enough' to qualify as CD1. Ugh!
I remember months like that! SOOO frusterating! Usually it would happen after a very loong cycle or an anovulatory one.
The only thing worse than getting AF is getting a confusing one that isn't somewhat textbook.
I can't wait for the day I see your positive HPT. *hugs*
Why aren't we given some sort of users manual for our "lady parts" at birth? I've been in your shoes more than once...glad (sad) to hear that AF finally decided to make herself known.
I hate the spotting that never seems to stop.
I thought I would tag you, if you are so kind to play along. You can read about it here.
What the hell? I would definitely ask your RE. Otherwise I would go with first day of red flow. I think I had something like that a few times too.
