38.2

That .2 is very important these days. My days and nights are creeping by and I am growing into a very inpatient mama. I have cleaned, scrubbed and vacuumed the house repeatedly. I have made like 45 trips to Target and have made every corner of this home ready for a baby. In fact, I am ready for the end of the world. But he is not here. Well he is here, just residing in a ever cramped space inches away from this laptop. I keep telling him his rent is up and to get out. I try and convince him how much more fun it would be out here. A world of coos, smiles, bouncy chairs and boobs! Hubby tells him to wait until Sunday because the cable guy comes Saturday. I think J bought digital cable for himself as a push present.

I have had not a one contraction. Nada. No sign this baby is coming out. ever. But alas, he will come somehow. And I will be thrilled. I walk an hour a day and I try very hard to take a good nap each afternoon. I finished my huge 20 page final paper for graduate school and sent it last night. I will celebrate today with an afternoon of laying out in the backyard with an ice cold Izze.

If you are wondering what life looks like in the home of a 38 week pregnant woman, who already has a knack for being tidy, here are some photos. I have pulled every room apart. I have packed. I have picked an outfit for the little bugger to come home in and I even got my labor ready pedicure. Now is the time for a baby, don't you think??!!

Yes, I own and use two vacuums.

I told baby to wait until the entire to-do list was crossed out. Well that has happened and I have since made a new list.

You are welcome to come and work on my to do list if you run out of yours! :) No, I would feel too guilty putting a 38.2 wk pregnant woman to work! Relax, enjoy - and sleep whenever you can. You world is about to be severely rocked in the very best way!!!

I love that arch to your dining room!

I never "nested" before Baby S was born. He was three weeks early and I think it caught us all by surprise. It happened after I got him home, though. Amazing what those hormones can do, eh?

Yes, sleep as much as you can. Lie around as much as you can. Your life will never be the same.

lol, i remember doing everything i could those last few weeks. I stopped working at 36 weeks, so i'd walk 2 hrs a day, nap, eat spicy food, by the end i was even trying the nipple stimulation stuff. gah. thankfully i didn't do the castor oil. :)

Hope he arrives safe and sound, and soon :)

You walk an hour a day? And your house is super clean? You are a rockstar!

When I went to my 37 week appointment with LG on a Monday. My OB told me there was no way I was having my baby over the next weekend. I had no dilation, no effacement, and no contractions. Well, about 3:30 Saturday morning my water broke.

You just never know when those babies will arrive, they come when they are ready.

Meg, I want to see a picture of your lovely house a year from now. I am so glad that you got to cross everything off your list. And now you can begin to un-learn the process of list making (for a little while). I was the queen of lists. Life isn't so linear anymore. But it is a lovely kind of circle. Rest up and spend as much time as you can by yourself these last weeks. Trust me, life will never be the same in about 1.5 weeks - if not sooner.

baby sure does seem to have a mind of his own already huh? He'll come when he's good and ready. Ugh, as parents, it seems the lack of control stops before conception and continues on through pregnancy and beyond!

I'm sure you are really ready!!! I keep hoping every post from you is "the one." Rest assured the baby does come, even when those last few weeks you wonder if it will ever happen. Good job on the lists!
