Weekends

Weekends used to be exhausting. Our to-do list was miles long and we would argue about its entirety - who does what, where is the time to veg out. I don't think about stopping often to "rest" and well, Josh does. He has always been known to be sucked into the couch just by glancing at it as he walks by. This still happens but somehow watching an entire day of football seems different now.

Along with football, there is always something being prepared in the kitchen (Sundays are new recipe day!) and we now have the acoustics of a squealing infant. He has recently attained a 'school girl totally being chased by a boy on the playground' screech and it is simply adorable. Although I am not sure how much longer we will find is as such.

Our weekends now feel magical. Somehow in 48 hours, we continue to go non-stop and each Sunday I reflect on how plentiful our days felt. How in a mere two days can we feel like we grow, bond and fall more in love as a family? I simply love our weekends.

I love that you have found this special time as a family. :)

I think one of your greatest gifts is how you really create the moments and the experiences you crave in your life, and then as they happen you are aware and present enough to truly savor them. Rare indeed.

I love reading about your moments of fullness and joy as a family. It inspires me to be present and to savor my own.

btw: where did you get those awesome sunglasses? Z is obsessed with sunglasses and we have been searching for a pair just for him.

also....LOVE the quote on your blog, might I borrow it? (it's ok if not)

Big hugs to you my dear. Hoping I get to see you and the little guy very very soon!!!!

Wonderful! There are many weekends where I can't respond to the question, "what did you do this weekend?" because we didn't really do anything specific. But they always feel full, busy and full of school girl screeches!

How wonderful - it is amazing to think how much things have changed and how I wouldn't change them back for the world.

I love the new digs!

I LOVE the comparison of his screams to a school girl being chased on the playground! I wanna play....Kaua's screams equal that of a squeeky mouse with congestion. lol.
