Getting ready

I cannot believe it has been 3 months since my last miscarriage. The time seemed to both fly by and go very, very slowly. I am getting ready to get back in the saddle.

I go for my HSG on Tuesday which is CD11. I am very nervous about this. I have read a bunch and it does not seem like it will be a walk in the park, although I think miscarrying at home and then having a D&C awake may have been worse...so I have to keep telling myself that. Just the thought of a catheter and shooting dye makes me squirm. I am supposed to take 4 Advil the night before and another 4 one hour before so hopefully that will help.

I am going to start OPKs tomorrow and will have my progesterone tested Tuesday AM to make sure I have not ovulated before the procedure. This month has been as "normal" as I can possibly remember. Looking over my charts, this is the second month that I have had zero breakthrough bleeding between periods which is reassuring for me. I am really hoping that my body cooperates and that I ovulate maybe Wed or Thurs. And I am hoping the procedure goes smoothly so we can actually try this month.

I will begin Progesterone supps. 3 days after I ovulate which I have no clue about. I have not even started looking at what the are like or any side effects they have since I think it may freak me out. They are twice a day, sounds like a goopy mess. Anyone with experience...please share!

Emotionally, I am feeling really good. I am scared and a little timid at the idea of this process again but I am emotionally ready. Something this week just clicked and I really can look ahead and do this.

I am hoping all is clear on Tuesday.

i am hoping for all clear for you as well. I did the advil regimen before mine and the procedure only burned for about 30 seconds then it was over. I didn't experience any other symtpoms. hoping the same for you.

I was full of Advil before my HSG also. Not going to lie, it was uncomfortable, but that lasted less than a minute. For a few hours later I was just crampy--but less than menstrual cramps.

And my best advice for the progesterone supps is to lay down for about 20 minutes afterwards...really helps with the messiness.

Good luck with everything!

I had an HSG in November. I wrote about it on by blog. You can read it here if you want. I didn't use any pain killers or anything, and I wouldn't even say it was uncomfortable. I hope yours goes as well.

I had to take progesterone to induce menstruation before the HSG because my cycle was stretching on past 60 days. The only notable side effect I had was increased libido.

Prog supp. gave me terrible discharge. I invested heavily in panty liners. I also felt slow, sluggish and sleepy on prog.

Progesterone is very very messy. I did it with the last pregnancy. Enjoy!

Three months already! Oh I can't wait to hit my three month mark so we can start trying.

The HSG sounds a lot like the amnio I had moments after I found out my last pregnancy had met a dead end. I'm so not looking forward to the test.

I did the advil for like 2 or 3 days before the HSG, every 8 hours. It does help. For me the worst part was having the speculum in place for like 10 minutes. There was a major cramping thing when they first threaded the catheter in but it only lasted like 15 seconds. I didn't even feel the dye.
As far as the progesterone, I second the laying down part. As far as how it makes you feel, I've had some tiredness and it makes my boobs hurt. Thats about it.
Good luck, I hope that you are able to try this month.

I think I maybe took an Advil before, but I was expected lots and lots of pain and all it was, for me at least, was tilt this way, tilt that way, wear this giant pad when the stuff leaks out.

And the progesterone suppositories are kinda messy. Lying down helps but I still have leaks, which is I assume a consipracy by underwear makers, panty liner makers and those of progesterone suppositories...

Just wanted to tell you I am thinking of you today. My 1st HSG wasn't good at all (in terms of pain), but the more recent one was painless (aside from the illusive cervix hunt!).

Hoping you hear back fantastic results, and that it isn't painful!!!

BTW, tell us what the dr says about the galactorrhea.

I just found you through Nancy's blog. I had miscarriage in December with my second pregnancy after a successful one. We can start trying again in March though I'm a bit nervous about it all. I hope your doctor appointments go well.
