Childless happenings

What to talk about. What to talk about. I'll think of a few things but I am not guaranteeing anything interesting.

I have three weeks of classes left this semester. This has been the hardest one yet and I have two HUGE papers left to write and it is quite painful to even begin thinking about starting them. I had the day off today to get a bunch done and instead I applied to internships, went clothes shopping and found myself on several occasions with my computer open and just randomly searching Google for anything/everything just to not have to begin my work! I am burnt out, burnt to a crisp.

We have coffee colored water and grime spewing from our faucets in the house. The landscapers began today and tapped into our water line for the sprinklers. My husband is trying to fix them right now. He just walked past me with huge pliers and he has not shut off the water before he begins working on them. I bet anything he will try and convince me he can do something and we will end up calling a plumber.

We are going to Mexico in July for a wedding. It will be very hot here in July and we will jet off to someplace even hotter but at least there will be the ocean. I am terrified to fly so I only take one flight per year on average so I guess Mexico is a good place to jet off to. I have never experienced the "all inclusive" option before. I am imagining watered down pool drinks and a shitty buffet but I am enticed by the idea that the mini-bar is included and restocked daily. I bet it is stocked with shit but I will enjoy it either way. If Mexico's water is anything like what is coming from my sinks, I will be blitzed all week. I guess this is one perk of not being preggo or trying in July.

Hi Meg! Coffee colored water-that doesn't sound good. I hope your husband is able to fix it.

All inclusivity in Mexico in July sounds heavenly.

Sorry you are so burnt - I remember that feeling from school....it's part of what's keeping me from going back just yet. Hang in there. It's almost done.

Ah Mexico. That will be fun. I have only done the all-inclusive thing once (usually I am up for more adventurous travel), in Cancun - the Moon Palace. it was pretty amazing actually. We gorged ourselves silly on all the crazy amounts of food available at the 4-5 different restaurants (all included) and yes, you will drink yourself into a coma. A wonderful, glorious, oblivious coma. ahhhhh.... Hedonism at its finest.

It's nice at least once in your life to let yourself indulge like that. I hope you enjoy it thoroughly! You certainly deserve the break!

I second Spicy Sister on the all-inclusive hedonism. It's cheesy, but sooooooo nice.

Hope the rest of the semester goes by quickly. I am counting down the weeks, too.

I, too, remember that school burn-out feeling. I admire for taking on so much!

I have never been to Mexico for the "all-inclusive" experience but I have friends that have gone and they swear by it. I hope it is nothing but sunshine, blue water and perfect margaritas!

We recently went to Mexico. It was ok, but they really did stock the mini bar every day and not with shit. Real life Corona, Jose Cuervo, etc...You could do some serious damage if you wanted to!

Good luck with school. I hate having papers and tests hanging over your head. I still have nightmares about school!

I just got back from Mexico, all inclusive... Cheesy but lovely, yes. And at the bars, we asked for Absol.ute or whatever and they served us that instead of the house. Not bad. Food/Alcohol induced zombie is good for the soul.

Gorging yourself on food and alcohol, however crappy, sounds nice. :)

Sorry school is going rough. I know I don't miss the procrastination of writing papers. Mind you, I proscratinate writing my articles for work but...

Your upcoming vacation sounds WONDERFUL and I hope it will erase all of the stress you are feeling right now. Who needs studying and papers when you can daydream about a fully stocked mini bar??!??

I hate flying, too. I always manage to rally, especially for tropical destinations.

I imagine some all-inclusives are cheesy, but I think some are actually really nice. I absolutely love Mexico. We went to Zihuatanejo for our honeymoon, and it was fab. Hope you have lots of fun here in about 3 months. :)

Ohhh a vacation!

I've been window shopping all inclusive beach vacations. If we could both get away from work for a week...*bliss*.
