I am becoming a nap nazi. Slowly each week I feel it coming on. I am either a very good mama and stay close to home so Finn's naps are beefy and blissful but then other times I rebel and decide to tag him along on many play dates and errands and then he ends up miserable. Today he was so overtired by 2pm (since he only took two 30-minute naps in his carseat), he was absolutely nutty. You might have guessed I slipped him a pixie stick today. His laughing and squealing finally subsided and he is sound asleep now. I am turning into the friend you never see again until her kid is down to one nap. Sigh.
I am also much more strict around illness and germs than I imagined I would be. I get that Finn will get sick. I know he needs to get sick. But seriously, if you have a play date with four 5-month olds, do not hold it when you know you three year old threw up around the clock the day before. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you?!
Finn will start solids on Christmas morning. And of course I have already done a few practice runs on the preparations of his food and I have organized a new space in the cabinets for his new set of adorable pint-sized necessities. I am so excited. I thought I would be sad that he was growing up and actually needing more. But nope. Give that kiddo some food.
Happy 5 months kiddo! Here he is seeing our turkey come out of the oven.

Can't believe he's 5 months already! I'm still trying to get over the fact that my girl is 7 weeks! He's such a cutie. :)
So cute! And I hear you on the germ front! I never thought about them at all before and now I am a Purell devotee!
I think he's going to LOVE turkey based on the look on his face!
i love that outfit he has on! I feel ya on the germ-phobia. Today MIL came to visit and she had a freakin cold!! WTH?
have you tried Clean Well hand sanitizer? safe for kids..no triclosan or alcohol. what is a pixie stick? you don't mean the candy, obviously (do you?)?
He's just adorable. Love his onesie!
What a sweet boy! I know what you mean about being a nap nazi. If Skeeter ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
What a sweet photo!
Naps rock and you have the be the gatekeeper (it's in the job description somewhere).

Oooh so cute! That smile is definitely heart-melting worthy.
The 2 nap thing is really rough, but it will get better once he transitions to 1. You just get to learn the inside of your house really well during that 2 nap phase.
:)
He is a-freaking-dorable. Good work, momma.
I was totally laughing at your play date ordeal. I used to get super pissed when my friends would bring their runny-nosed kids over to our house to play. Missy would invariability get sick. Usually it was only my friends with older kids, too, who did this. But I was neurotic about it. Having a sick baby sucks the big one.
With that in mind, I second Fiddle's endorsement of Clean Well hand sanitizer. I used it on Missy when she was just a wee one. No triclosan, no alcohol. They make soap, too.
