Ramblings

Each day I get AF type cramps for a little while and they go away. I get quite excited that she will be here and then nothing. The universe is seriously f&^king with me.

I got a new lawnmower today. Oh how I heart my new lawnmower. I have serious OCD angst towards grass clippings and I have wanted a mower with a bag since we got our old mower (5 years ago). Many fights have started with my war with clippings and my husbands frugality. I decided I would propose that I would sell our old one for some money towards a new one. He thought it was a long shot. I put pictures and an ad on Craigslist at 9am and by 11am I had sold the mower and had $100 cash in hand. I went straight to Sears and got my new love.....

I also have a new love. Cupcakes. I am on WW so these are a serious treat and I estimate 10 flex points for one, even though WW estimates any cupcake between 2 and 4 points. The picture below is evidence that there is no way these suckers are less than 10 points. If you live in Denver, you must try Lovely Confections on Colfax...the BEST cupcakes and are made with organic and local ingredients.

My family drama is at an all time high. I live 2000 miles from them and it actually feels too close. My mother's house is being foreclosed and instead of trying to pay off the balance she owes to keep the house, she is choosing to just stop paying altogether and eventually get kicked out. She spent over $700 the other day at Coach. My youngest sister's car was repossessed in the middle of the night. She eventually borrowed money from her babysitting job to get it out. She was then fired from said job for stealing their Xanax. She went to a Tom Petty concert last night....was missing until this morning and was found in jail, covered in bruises and has no clue how she got there.

I keep thinking if I have my own children thousands of miles away, my own family drama will just fade away. Wishful thinking....

I cannot wait until dinner is over so I can have the second half of carrot cake cupcake tonight.

Oh you temptress! Any chance they've got a gluten-free cupcake? Probably not. :(

Yay for the new lawnmower!

Boo for the teasing AF!

And family drama? Oh girl - can I relate! Sorry things are so crazy for your family right now. I know even with the distance it can still suck you in!

Lets hook up next week, k?

Can I have a cupcake?

And wow, what family drama. At least they keep things interesting. Sorry, I am sure you don't find it interesting at all. But at least you are 2000 miles away.

Your mom sounds like a hoot.

Missed you on Sunday (said not to make you feel guilty, but to make you feel, well, missed).

Wow...sorry about the crazy family but those cupcakes look lovely. Doesn't mowing the lawn qualify as a decent amount of a work out for one of those puppies? Maybe 2? Hope AF comes soon for you.

I LOOOOOVE cupcakes. And organic cupcakes..? Shut up. I am in heaven.

So sorry to hear about the family drama. Sometimes you just have to put the blinders on.

Sorry you have to deal with the family nonsense. Sounds like you are wise to live far away. But yeah, the crazy spell they cast is unfortunately not thousands of miles away, it's inside your head, believe me, I know.

Those cupcakes do look damned good. If I was on WW, I'd be over like a thousand points in the last month! Don't tell my husband, I'm blaming it on my estrogen pills. ;)
