My appointment went well. She said changes in his HB are normal and expected at this point so thank you all for that info. I agree that what I heard is likely something normal that occurs all of the time and I only know about it because I am being nosey with a doppler. I check on him only a few times a week and think once his kicks become more pronounced and regular, this will be enough reassurance.
I did not have an ultrasound. She checked my cervix manually and it is long and closed. That is all she gave me. I felt like putting up a fight for a internal check but I am tired of arguing with Kaiser for things like this. At 24 weeks I do have a scheduled cervix check via ultrasound so I am working on just trusting her and this process and staying busy for 4 weeks.
I am so hungry all of the time and just woke up from a 2 hour nap. Hope that means he is growing a lot!

Meg, I am so happy for you. I have my fingers crossed for you. When I hit 20 weeks it was a huge turning point for me. You are 1/2 way there. It will get a little easier to let go of the past now. You are almost to the third.. Hang in there..

I don't want to get you fired up, but I would recommend asking for u/s rather than manual checks for your cervix. Manual checks are very subjective. Weeks 16-24 are going to be when a cervix starts to shorten if it is going to. I pushed for u/s check every 2-3 weeks during that time. But I had to fight tooth and nail for them. My cervical length dropped drastically between 21 and 24 week. It continued to shorten even after I was on full hospital bedrest. And typically a cerclage will not be placed after 20 weeks.
OB's can be a real pain and the ass about this. Many do not believe IC and MA's are related. But I believe they are.
Harass them if you must.

Gosh, I remember the feelings you are dealing with like they happened to me yesterday. You are far enough along that a baby seems like a reality but then we all know the odds game if something goes awry. Hang in there and keep thinking those positive thoughts. I know it is hard but the little guy needs those good vibes. Maybe now is a good time to start a prenatal yoga class if you can manage it?
So glad to hear everything is going well!! You are doing great and your feelings are completely normal. I too had horrible dreams, but try to remember they are just dreams, manifestations of your worries. Just keep trying to keep good thoughts. One day at a time...one day at a time.
